When you arrive back to Glen Cove on Friday evening will feature flavors of our past and present day hometown– So be ready to catch up with old friends, make new friends, and just have a good time. The past is the St. Rocco’s Feast that opens at 6pm. A great place for dinner. Yes, there are midway rides and games, but at St. Rocco’s, it’s all about the food — pasta dishes, eggplant, meatballs and the famous sausage & peppers heroes — all homemade by parishioners from Italian recipes that have been passed down for generations.24

If you want to take in Glen Cove’s newest summer tradition than head to the intersection of School, Glen and Bridge Streets for the Glen Cove Downtown Sounds Concert. Every Friday night during July and August, the downtown Village Square Plaza comes alive with music featuring New York area artists. With the sounds of jazz, rhythm and blues, rock, folk, salsa and other genres filling the air, the public enjoys great music while dancing and dining in our open and inviting downtown area.  Last year’s concerts included Gary Lewis and the Playboys with Billy J. Kramer, John Oats of Hall & Oats,  Aztec Two Step with Jim Dawson.  Concert starts at 7PM.41269_1565787670743_5924962_n

Regardless of where you start the evening , you will end it at the CLASS  ICEBREAKER at  PAGE ONE on SCHOOL STREET. Join us for an informal meet & greet to start off the reunion weekend. Hors d’oeuvres will be supplied with a  cash bar. Catch up on what’s been going on with all those friends that you have lost touch with.pic9

Plans are being made for an informal gathering at the high school for a tour. Bring your camera and enjoy a walk through the building as we visit and remember high school days.

G.C.H.S. Yearbook of 74 or 73 was dedicated in remembrance of Richard “Ritchie” S. Sasson”, passed away by accident, he just got engaged to Sally Ripple, Sally was in private school. His dear friend, Dave Mitchell had a placard made, G.C H.S. allowed it to be placed
in loving memory of Ritchie, however, after graduation no one could find it. If anyone knows about the placard please e-mail sallydugan54@yahoo.com. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to Frank Venturino for all his hard work upcoming reunion, Hope you all have a blast, I won’t be home until Sept. Thanks for any help that may appear.
